Pond Type Guide

How to determine what category your pond fits under

TYPE 1 | WATER FEATURES

  • Designed as a clean water application and so not meant to house fish or plants. The pumps do not come with built-in filters so require clean, clear water to operate as intended.

TYPE 2 | BASIC PONDS

  • Smaller domestic ponds that require minimal maintenance due to housing few or no fish or plants. Type 2 pumps come with small inbuilt filter sponges that require regularly scheduled maintenance to ensure they operate as intended.

TYPE 3 | ADVANCED PONDS

  • More complex water gardens where fish and plants are prominent and in larger numbers. These applications generally produce the most waste and require the most maintenance. Type 3 pumps are generally designed to pass soft solids like fish waste, plant debris and algae, and work with separate filtration systems to keep your pond clean and clear.
